Privacy

This page explains what our games and this website do with data. The short version: no accounts, no ads, no names or e-mail addresses, and anonymous play statistics that you can switch off.

Anonymous play statistics

Hold the Dacha sends anonymous events so we can see where the game is too hard or breaks. For example: a game started, a night reached, the run won or lost, how long the tab was open and in view.

To switch it off: open the game's main menu and set Anonymous stats to off. The game then sends nothing.

The events are stored in a database run by Neon, hosted in the United States. We use them only to improve our games and do not sell or share them.

Saves and settings

Your progress, language and sound settings are kept in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not sent to us. Clearing the site data in your browser deletes them.

Playing together

Online co-op connects two browsers directly (WebRTC). To find each other, the browsers use the public PeerJS server. As with any direct connection, the two players' browsers can see each other's IP addresses. We do not receive or store them.

This website

The website is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel keeps short-term technical logs of requests. The site uses no cookies, no ads and no third-party analytics. Fonts are served from this site.

Games on itch.io

When you play one of our games on itch.io, itch.io's own privacy policy also applies to the page around the game.
